Afterward, drive to the Jasper town site and stroll through the many shops before your final sightseeing adventure of the day, The Jasper Tramway takes you to the top of Whistler’s Mountain. Be prepared to enjoy one of the most spectacular views of the Athabasca Valley, Rocky Mountains and Jasper town site. If you are feeling ambitious the short yet intense hike to the summit is well worth it.

Day 2
Today is picture taking day. A short drive brings you to the leisurely walks at Horseshoe Lake and Edwards Lake. Afterwards, it’s on to Maligne Canyon: the deepest canyon in Jasper National Park. Here, foot path and bridges follow and traverse the turbulent Maligne River as it carves through the canyon creating pools and waterfalls.
Your deluxe picnic lunch may be enjoyed here or at your next stop, Medicine Lake, some twenty minutes away. This mysterious lake appears as either a river or a hundred foot deep lake! It all depends on the time of year as you will find out when you arrive.
As you travel the remainder of the way to Maligne Lake, remember to watch for animals. This road is famous for sightings of resident moose, big horn sheep, wolves and bears.
Once you reach Maligne Lake you will cruise on the majestic turquoise waters to the famed "Spirit Island"; one of the most photographed spots in all of the Canadian Rockies. Your final stop is Athabasca Falls before returning to Sunwapta.
